At the Root of GVR
We strive to keep our priorities where they count, focusing on initiatives that support our diverse workforce, provide support and value to our communities.
Putting People First
Being part of the GVR team means being highly valued. From safety measures to programs designed to build skills and advance careers, we do everything we can to protect, promote and nurture our team members.
Encouraging growth, rewarding success and creating a culture where everyone can be his or her best is the GVR way.
Safety is Never an Accident
At GVR Landscape, we take the safety of our associates and customers seriously. Weekly safety meetings help to ensure everyone is current in training and understand the precautions and protocols we have in place to protect each associate and team as a whole. Our management team is involved and give best practice tips to encourage a safety mindset at all times.
GVR Company Event
August 2017 – GVR Landscape celebrated a successful, ahead-of-schedule, busy season with our entire team with both Colorado branches. We enjoyed a day at Coors Field to watch the Colorado Rockies play baseball! We wanted to show our appreciation for all the hard work we have done thus far. It was a great time to enjoy the company of our team in a relaxed environment.
Caring for Community
The places where we work are part of the communities in which we live and play. That’s why it’s so important to us to give back.
Through donating our time, skills, expertise, and resources, we take pride in helping our communities prosper and thrive, environmentally, economically and socially.
Highline Academy Northeast Charter School
June 2017 – GVR Landscape donated 10 yards of compost and 10 yards of soil to Highline Academy Northeast Charter School, a local elementary school growing their garden club and presence at the school. Highline Academy encourages learning outside of the classroom. They want to ‘teach students where fruits and vegetables come from and how to plant … a garden and encourage responsibility by caring for [it]’. The school was able to utilize the several raised garden beds at their entrance with our donation and grow a multitude of fruits and vegetables for the school to enjoy.
Meadowood Child Development Center
August 2017 – GVR Landscape donated ¼ ton of river rock to a local elementary school. The rock was used to bring parents, their kids and teachers together in a back-to-school activity that would have a lasting effect throughout the school year and beyond. Parents and students of Meadowood Child Development Center, colorfully painted these rocks that would then be placed in a ‘community rock garden’ onsite and outside the students’ classroom door.
Saint Simeon Catholic Cemetery
September 2017 – GVR Landscape generously donated 10 deciduous trees to an Aurora cemetery to honor a member of our associate’s family passing. We spent all day at Saint Simeon Cemetery helping beautify their landscape by removing dead trees and adding trees to their location. We hope anyone who visits a passed loved one here can find some comfort in the essence and serenity of nature.
Food Bank of the Rockies
December 2017 – The management team of GVR Landscape donated a few hours of their time to support Food Bank of the Rockies. On our volunteer day, we built and organized orders for companies participating in USDA food distribution programs. Together, we helped a local Food Bank of the Rockies warehouse build numerous pallets and hundreds of pounds of food for people here in Colorado.
